Festivals on a Tight Budget PDF Print E-mail

Us Brit`s love a good music festival, but, with the British weather being as unpredictable as it is, we often find ourselves freezing and covered in mud as we watch our favourite bands perform. This has led to more and more of us opting to travel further afield in Europe to enjoy music festivals in sunnier climes. There is nothing better than leaving the rain behind for a few days and enjoying a great music festival in the sun with friends.

There are literally dozens of open air music festivals throughout Europe in the summer months and they cater for all styles and tastes. Spirit of Burgas is a great festival for lovers of dance music. It is held in Bulgaria which is a very cheap part of Europe. Cheap flights are available here all through the year and provide a very affordable festival experience in the sun. Eurockeennes, is a festival held in France and caters for all types of popular music. The tickets for this event are very cheap compared with UK festivals and as you can easily travel to France by Eurostar, this is a great option. It is held in an area near the Swiss border and is a great base for exploring other parts of Europe while you are there. In July, a festival called Melt takes place in Germany. Many big rock, Indie and electronic acts perform here. If you are on a budget, travelling to Germany by coach is a great option and allows you to take in the stunning European scenery as you travel. Many f estivals are held in Amsterdam each year, all with very diverse artists. You can get to Amsterdam very cheaply by ferry. Ferries can be a lot of fun and most have on board entertainment such as live bands and cinemas to enjoy as you travel to your destination.

If the sunny weather isn`t your thing, why not take a ferry ride through the Fjords to Norway`s Hove festival which features many great rock and indie bands each year. This festival is very environmentally friendly and taking a stunning ferry voyage through the Fjords to get there will certainly reduce your carbon footprint.

So there really is no excuse for you to get away from the soggy, muddy UK festivals and travel further afield into Europe where the weather is fine and the music is good. So pack up your festival tents and your comfy festival clothes and get going for a weekend of fun.
