Belgium really know how to put on a good festival. If Groezrock is too punk for you, Rock Werchter too long, then definitely give Pukkelpop a go. Taking place near Hasselt, Pukkelpop has been going strong since it started in 1985 and promises to be a big date in this year's European festival calender.

 

 

With an impressive history of big names in the last 20 odd years, you should expect big things for 2008. Past acts have included Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Guns N' Roses, Jane's Addiction, and loads more. Recent years have seen a huge number of acts across the festival's 8 stages and highlights included The Arcade Fire, Basement Jaxx, Kaiser Chiefs, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, and Tool.
