Probably Germany's most popular music festival, Rock am Ring (and Rock im Park) returns to Nurburgring in west Germany (Rock am Ring) and Frankenstadion, Nurnberg (south east Germany). Both festivals have pretty much the same line-up every year - kind of like Reading/Leeds festivals in the UK. The combined festivals are one of the largest in the world with just over 150,000 people in 2007.

 In the past, acts such as U2, Pearl Jam, Elton John, Aerosmith, Rage Against the Machine, Smashing Pumpkins, KISS, Bob Dylan, Metallica, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Iron Maiden, R.E.M., Linkin Park, Smashing Pumpkins, Die Artze, Slayer, The White Stripes, Korn, Velvet Revolver, Muse, Arctic Monkeys and Guns N' Roses have graced the stages at the festivals.

Rock am Ring is a pretty safe bet in terms of European music festivals. You're guaranteed to find something you like among the line-up and it's a pretty good price for 3 days of music. Interested?
